Enjoy an evening of transportive tropical rhythms – a fusion of worldly jazz beats and Colombian harp – from acclaimed musicians Oran Etkin & Edmar Castañeda. Following the success of last summer’s Full Moon Concert series, Oran returns to Mama Farm with Colombian harpist Edmar Castañeda, whose music was recently featured in Disney's hugely successful film, Encanto. The Colombian-themed menu featuring items like patillazo-waermelon-lime punch, duck rice with farm eggs, sausage, and fresh Coriander seed or vegetable sancocho will be cooked by Chef Francis Derby. Dinner and drinks are included in the price of your ticket and will be served picnic-style while guests are serenaded under the night sky. Tickets can be purchased here.

July 9th | Learn To Tell Your Story with The Moth

6-9PM

Budding storytellers and writers – this one's for you! Get inspired while listening to an esteemed Moth storyteller tell their tale of transformation and growth. To help ripen that story you’ve been yearning to tell, The Moth's artistic team and co-authors of How to Tell a Story: The Essential Guide to Memorable Storytelling from The Moth will share the nuances of how they craft their stories. Chef Derby’s offerings this evening will include basil blossom and strawberry elixir, ancient grains with snap pea salad, pistachio gremolata, slow roasted pork shoulder, and grilled eggplant. Tickets can be purchased here.

Get ready for a lively dinner and bingo session with Mama Farm's Miss Tomato! Miss Tomato's bingo game is like no other - a fusion of drag, comedy, and cabaret. 2022 programming recap

FULL MOON CONCERTS

In summer 2022, we were delighted to welcome Oran Etkin back to Mama Farm to host a Moon Concert with harpist Edmar Castaneda & vocalist Andrea Tierra, as well as host his delightful Timbalooloo music classes for children. Additionally, we were proud to have Peabody Award winning organization, The Moth, take to the Mama Farm stage for an evening of storytelling with Moth directors, Kate Tellers and Jenifer Hixson and storyteller, Devin Wilson. To end our events for the season, the audacious Miss Tomato hosted a rollicking evening of Drag Bingo for a large audience of all ages. As always, farm fresh foods and drinks were served picnic style in the twilight and evening hours.

TIMBALOOLOO MUSIC CLASSES SERIES

In summer 2021, we teamed up with award-winning jazz musician Oran Etkin to bring his celebrated Timbalooloo music classes for children to Mama Farm. Guests of all ages enjoyed engaging musical education, a delicious, seasonal breakfast by Chef Conor Swanson (Bird & Bao, Momofuku), a farm scavenger hunt and more.

Timbalooloo is an internationally renowned musical program that strives to fundamentally reimagine the way music is taught to children. Through fun games, stories, songs and movements, children engage with rich musical and cultural heritage – from Tito Puente to Mozart, Willie Nelson to Herbie Hancock.

Founder and teacher Oran Etkin is widely regarded as one of the top clarinetists and composers of his generation. He regularly performs at major jazz festivals internationally and has recorded on numerous albums, including a Grammy Award winning compilation.
